WHAT ARE PRIME TIME PROGRAMS?

Recently heard about our Prime Time programs?  Looking to know what we're all about? You've come to the right place!

At Prime Time, it doesn't matter what age, size, position or skill level you are -- our mission is the same:

Provide all athletes with the all the tools, resources and knowledge required to maximize their development, maintain long-term health, perform at the highest levels of competition -- and grow into the very best version of themselves.

There is no one size fits all when working with athletes.  No drill, program or cue works for everyone.  So, we pride ourselves on designing, adjusting and customizing individualized programs -- based on YOU.  It starts with establishing trust and building relationships with each athlete.  From there, all athletes in Prime Time Programs begin the development process by going through our 360º physical screen and skill assessment -- collecting data that is compiled and analyzed by our team of trainers.  These measurements identify target areas for improvement -- and allow us to work WITH each athlete to map out how we're going to accomplish athlete goals, agreed upon before the training actually begins.

In all Prime Time Programs, our staff of experts provides and communicates a well-defined and tangible roadmap for all athletes to navigate.   From there, we firmly believe in athletes taking ownership of the process.  As we like to say:

"We are your guard rails -- we can show you the road and make sure you don't end up in a ditch -- but YOU have to drive the car."

TRAINING PROGRAMS

PRIME TIME VELOCITY (PTV)

The gold standard for pitching and overall throwing development -- PTV is a 6-month, data-driven, training program for high-school aged athletes of all skill levels.   The program runs Monday, Wednesday & Friday and serves as a 50/50 hybrid between in-gym and remote training.  For those unable to participate in-gym, we offer multiple full time remote training packages as well.

Led by our-highly decorated staff of instructors, all on-site and remote athletes are assessed in three key areas -- overall range of motion, body strength & throwing mechanics.  No two bodies are perfect alike.  No two athletes move the exact same way to throw.  The data we collect during athlete assessments drive the creation of individualized training programs targeting each athlete's biggest areas for improvement.

While single programs are specialized, our protocols remain consistent each and every day.  Athletes walking through our doors can expect:   dynamic warm-up for activation and mobility work, throwing specific warm-up to prime the shoulder for throwing, prescribed throwing drills using weighted baseballs, plyo balls and regulation baseballs, recovery circuit -- and a post-throwing strength and conditioning workout with 2SP Sports Performance on-site. All athletes (for varied periods of time) go through each of the following phases of throwing development: On-Ramping, Development, Velocity, Mound Blending, Mound Development and Competition.

And to sweeten the deal, Prime Time Velocity is proud to present our staff of instructors for the upcoming 2020-2021 off-season:

  • Brendan Kelly: Pitching Coach -- Wayne State University (Driveline Certified in Pitching and Pitch Design)

  • Austin Atwood: Head of Remote Training & Marketing -- Prime Time Velocity (Driveline Certified in Pitching)

  • Jordan Eaddy: National Academy of Sports Medicine Certification (Driveline Certified in Pitching)

While Prime Time Velocity was created by pitchers for pitchers -- it is an elite development program for all athletes, regardless of position.  And with the help this incredible staff, athletes progress through increases in volume, intensity and frequency -- both throwing and in the weight room -- to develop efficient movement patterns, increase throwing velocity and minimize acute injury risks.

The goal of any practice is to prepare for performing at your best when it matters most -- in competition.  And this program will teach you how to become the guy no one wants to see on the bump.

PRIME TIME HITTING (PTH)

From the immediate success of Prime Time Velocity – and our mission to raise the bar of off-season training – came the creation of Prime Time Hitting.  The logical next step in providing all players with premier off-season development programs – PTH is a data-driven, monthly hitting development program.

Great hitters come in all shapes and sizes, and we are here to supply you with the practice environment and tight feedback loop that will take your swing to a whole new level.  And it all begins with you going through our 360º physical assessment. Based your level of mobility, strength and swing technique – our staff designs programs specialized to your needs.

While there are variations to every program, PTH teaches all participants how to emphasize one word… “intent.”  In hitter jargon, INTENT – describes a hitter’s mindset to inflict damage while swinging at (or above) game-like intensity.  Through intent-focused training, hitters take ownership of their swing development, improve sequencing (timing of movements) and increase rotational power in their swing.  By combining premier instruction and the latest in technology with creative and customized drill work – Prime Time Hitting aims to develop efficient movement patterns and plate coverage, increase attack angles and exit velocity – as well as proper bat paths.

The program incorporates a number of “toys” athletes will use daily to keep a tight feedback loop (instant data feedback) and track progress.  Here’s a couple, just to give you a taste: Rapsodo 2.0, Driveline’s Axe Bats and TRAQ Software, Overload/Underload training and more.

Bottom line, every swing is different – but all are capable of doing serious damage when you learn how to transfer intent – into result.  And Prime Time Hitting is here to help you put fear into the hearts of pitchers every time you step in the box.

PRIME TIME FOUNDATIONS (PTF)

The number of reputable, successful off-season training programs available for high-school athletes seems to grow exponentially every year... but, the same can't be said for programs targeting youth athletes.  Yes, there are still many options -- but what are they developing?  Concerned more about throwing a strike than learning how to move?  Focused on making contact instead of inflicting damage at impact?  The truth is -- it's never too early to learn the skills elite-level players exhibit -- and turn potential, into reality.

So, Prime Time Programs happily presents the newest addition to our 2020-2021 off-season training slate -- PRIME TIME FOUNDATIONS.  The program is designed to develop youth athletes (ages 10-13) -- based on the same building blocks we use with our older, more advanced, athletes.  FOUNDATIONS is broken up into two --three-month long sessions --where athletes work with our elite staff of trainers (ALL DRIVELINE CERTIFIED IN PITCHING) two days a week, for two hours each day.  Also, be aware that both sessions will only be available for on-site training.

The program as a whole was designed (and focuses on) the following "key pillars" for velocity development:

  • Measure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Movement Quality

  • Moverment IQ

  • Throwing Velocity

  • Athleticism

This program isn't quite like any youth velocity development program you may have seen.  It's not just another pitching camp/clinic.  It's not like your team's pitching practice.  Instead -- consider this program a high velocity environment.  One built to provide elite, specialized instruction to youth athletes -- using competition, positive vibes, high intensity, the latest in technology and equipment... and we're going to have a whole lot of fun along the way!
